What We Believe
- We believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s dignity, freedom, ability, and responsibility must be honored.
- We believe in equal rights, equal justice, and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, creed, sex, age, or disability.
- We believe free enterprise and encouragement of individual initiative has brought this nation opportunity, economic growth, and prosperity.
- We believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to keep more of the money they earn.
- We believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations; and that the best government is that which governs least.
- We believe the most effective, responsible, and responsive government is government that is closest to the people.
- We believe that good government begins with self-government and self-control.
- We believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.
- We believe Americans value and should preserve our Constitution, Bill of Rights, and Declaration of Independence; while working to extend peace, freedom, and human rights throughout the world.
- We believe in a strong national defense to insure that the security, freedoms and rights we have fought for and gained, will not be destroyed.
- We believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.
CHRISTIAN COUNTY MISSOURI VALUES PLATFORM (1/2018)
Most of what is important in life we do for ourselves, without the government. We form our own families and raise our own children. We choose what we want to do in life. We pray to our God as we choose; we form and join the religious and civic groups that care for our neighbors in need and shape the direction of our state. There are only a few things we need the government to do for us; but it should do those things well and faithfully.
Citizens of Christian County deserve a county government (and local governments) with the vision to see the bright future ahead and the effective leadership that knows to do just enough to set the stage, and then to get out of our way and let us get there on our own. We pledge to provide both the vision and the effective leadership the people of Christian County deserve.
In accordance with our charter and bylaws, (Article II (d) ) the Christian County Republican Central Committee seeks to “recruit and vet candidates” for elected office that best reflect the morals and values of the Republican Party. To this end we present a modified version of the Missouri Republican Party Platform as the Christian County Central Committee Platform. We invite all candidates who wish to be presented to voters as Republicans in Christian County to weigh in on these planks and give the Committee and the citizens of Christian County some insight to how candidates would implement such values into the offices that they seek. This is not a test, but a measure of how well a person’s individual beliefs and actions fit within the scope of Republican values. After each plank there is a question to be filled out by every candidate, if more room is needed, we understand completely so feel free to add additional pages as needed. This form is intended to be publicly seen by voters.

WE BELIEVE that all of us are endowed by our Creator with certain inalienable rights, including life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. It is our fundamental belief that our morals, our values and our culture are derived from Almighty God. To quote the Psalmist, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Psalm 33:12.
WE BELIEVE that the strength of America is in the hearts and homes of its citizens.
WE BELIEVE in the right of Missourians to be secure in their persons, their homes and their communities.
WE BELIEVE government governs best when it governs least.
WE BELIEVE that all political power is vested in, and derived from, the people; that all government originates from the people, is founded upon their will only, and is instituted solely for the good of the whole.
WE BELIEVE the role of the federal government should be “to ensure domestic tranquility, to provide for the common defense and to promote the general welfare.” And we believe that the 10th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution grants all other duties to the states.
WE BELIEVE that United States law and/or the laws of the individual states shall not be subservient to the laws, religious regulations, and/or cultural mores of the United Nations and/or any other country or countries. (International courts, Sharia law, Agenda 21 etc,) we expect all county authorities to reject and oppose extra-constitutional intrusion in these matters, up to and including expecting the Sheriff to exercise the authority of the office to stop any such activities.
WE BELIEVE the Republican Party is the best vehicle to build on the principles of free enterprise, personal responsibility, economic opportunity, strong families, moral values and sound government.
WE EXPECT the efforts of elected Republican officials at the county and local levels will reflect these guiding principles; we will encourage their work to advance good government, and speak out when it does not.
WE EXPECT elected Republican officials at the state level to also reflect Republican values. Without question, we believe that Missourians are better off with Republicans leading from the Governor’s office and both chambers of the Legislature, and even more when they reflect our values effectively.
